Early Childhood Organizations and Opportunities

The first organization I looked at was the National Association for the Education of Young Children. http://www.naeyc.org/  at current I am and have been a member for more than six years and love attending the conferences whenever they are near me. There is a wealth of information and articles related to what's new in Early childhood.

The second  is CDA council of which I am a professional development specialist and have been for more than five years. http://www.cdacouncil.org/The Council for Professional Recognition provides many ways for you to connect with a world of early care educators. Whether it is through social media channels, webinars, and events,  the Council brings early educators together to build relationships, solve challenges in the early childhood field and create invaluable networks. We hope to connect with you!

The third organization was The National Head Start Association. http://www.supportheadstart.org/of which I am currently employed. It offers a wealth of information, these resources are used by families, communities, programs, researchers, and policymakers to support the future of our nation's most at-risk children.

There has been two jobs in the field for which I have applied for. The first is  Intern Supervisor, Troy State University. The Intern Supervisor position is responsible for supervising and evaluating Education students in their internships in a P-12 setting; traveling to the schools and meeting with the students and cooperating teachers on a schedule recommended by the Office of Certification and Field Experiences; and reporting to the department under the direction of the Director of Certification and Field Experiences. Although this job requires a Master's degree in any education setting I have still applied because you never know.

The second is education specialist for Enrichment services Head Start. The job is to provide support and provision of services outlined in the Performance Standards and for accomplishing the goals and objectives of the Early Head Start & Head Start Programs. I am fully confident in my ability to perform all the required duties for this job.

  1. Hi Patricia,

The NAEYC is a wonderful organization to be a part of. The wealth of resources and information that this organization offers is amazing. I have never been to a conference, but saw that their annual conference is going to be in Los Angeles this year. I am going to try to get approval from my district to go as a professional development. That is awesome that you go to their conferences :) The positions that you applied for seem to be exciting positions. Good luck!
